I certainly encourage Pastors and layman alike to take a clear stand against the pagan concepts of macro-evolution and millions of years/deep time.
In order to do so we must start with the Bible and let the straight forward historical account of Genesis speak with the same authority as John 3:16! Next, we need to discern what is going on. Most believers are not aware of the simple fact that two opposing worldviews (faith systems) are at odds with one another when it comes to the subject of origins.
The debate is not between Christianity and science, rather the debate is between the faith system of Naturalism and that of Theism (in particular Bible Christianity).
Once this is clearly established in one's thinking the issue becomes one of confirming which faith system is actually consistent with what we know to be true (generally the tenets of observational science). The faith that is true to the way things are in the real world is trustworthy, whereas the other is nothing more than blind faith.
It may be a surprise to many that articles like this are numerous, touch upon many areas of scientific inquiry, and constantly demonstrate that a belief in macro-evolution is not rational. Sure, anyone can persist in believing what they want to believe, but is the belief system supported by what we know to be true in the real world?
One can believe in little green men on Mars, but it doesn't make it so! Sadly, evolution is just as much a myth. However, multitudes cling to their dogma for one simple reason--they DO NOT WANT TO BELIEVE IN GOD.
Their problem is not an intellectual one, rather they have a heart problem (a problem of the will). The Bible calls this rebellion and the only answer is repentance!
Check out this article for another recent piece of information that is totally consistent with a Biblical worldview of recent creation, etc.
