Study Challenges Health Benefits of Moderate Drinking

A new study challenges the idea that a drink or two a day could actually be good for you.  The study conducted in China tracked 500,000 people over a decade to gather data on how individuals fared who consumed alcohol in moderation.

Quoting part of this article from the Associated Press:

"Overall, the study found alcohol increases the stroke risk by about one-third for every four additional drinks per day. The researchers found no protective effects for moderate drinking. For people who drink up to two drinks a day — which would qualify as moderate drinking — scientists said they would have an increased stroke risk of about 10% to 15% when compared to nondrinkers. There weren't enough heart attacks among the participants to be able to draw a conclusion about heart risks, the researchers said."

In a journal commentary, the authors called for stricter controls on alcohol, saying its risks have been underestimated.  "The alcohol industry is thriving and should be regulated in a similar way to the tobacco industry," wrote Shiu Lun Au Yeung and Dr. Tai Hing Lam of the University of Hong Kong.

The only sure way to avoid problems connected to the consumption of alcohol is to abstain completely from this poison.  As the Scripture admonishes in Proverbs 23, "Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.  At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder" (Proverbs 23:29-32).

The descriptive language in this proverb speaks of new wine allowed to ferment and become strong drink.  Remember, "wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging; and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise" (Proverbs 20:1).

There are no health benefits to consuming moderate amounts of poison in the form of alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is a poison that damages every organ in the human body.  Furthermore, it ensnares millions of people dragging them down into alcoholism, poverty, and eventually premature death.  Rid your life of this evil and never let it gain any ground amongst your family.  Fight the battle as necessary to separate from intoxicating beverages.  Do not consume them, period.

There is a tragic scenario playing out in the lives of the teenagers in our country troubled by gender confusion.  Instead of godly, appropriate counsel aimed at resolving the confusion and leading young men and women to embrace the God given gender assigned at birth, they are instead encouraged to travel a path that leads to personal devastation.

Here is a quote from Walt Heyer's recent article for the Daily Signal pointing out the calamity now occurring:

"
So the negative findings stack up, and alarms are raised about the lack of proof concerning effectiveness and safety. But administering unnecessary hormones and rearranging healthy body parts with sex-change surgeries continue undaunted by a deaf medical community.

I feel like I’m standing alongside the road shouting to warn approaching drivers: “The bridge is out! The bridge is out!”

Indeed, an increasingly godless segment of the professional community is fostering moral confusion on those who are obviously hurting emotionally and spiritually.  Such immature young people need appropriate counsel to weather the personal storm engulfing them until they find peace with their God given gender.

Read this article as it is high time those accountable for bamboozling unsuspecting children and families are held accountable.

Just how many days do we work to pay all of our taxes?

In total, a new report estimates, Americans will work for 105 days of the year to pay their collective $5.42 trillion tax bill—a figure equal to about 29% of Americans’ incomes. Just how many days of the year do we work to pay all of our taxes?

In her recent article Rachel Greszler of the Heritage Foundation says:

"At $5.42 trillion, Americans spend
more on taxes
than they do on food, clothing, and housing combined. That burden will only increase as government spending continues to grow."

Check out this full article to get the picture on our current tax burden, how the tax cut helped a bit, and what the future may look like if we do not stop the growth of government.
