For the past 50 years or more our nation has witnessed the slow demise of the public education system. God, Christ, and his Word were removed from the system long ago and now the vestiges of any Christian tradition are all but gone.
Today the culture of our public school system is ungodly and perpetrates the religion of Naturalism. The pubic school experience from K-12 leaves the true God and his Word completely out of the education of each student, but that does not mean the system is neutral at all.
I am assuming that Christians have the ability to discern the reality that a new religion is in place in our public school system. It is the religion of Naturalism. Today's public school experience equips our children to think of their world totally independent of God and his Word. The compromise that now exists is flipping the most basic values of our society upside down!

In the meantime, just when will professing Christians refocus on the priority of separating their children from such ungodliness and separating them unto the Lord. In addition to homeschooling, the Christian school subculture is where we need to fight the spiritual battle for our children.
In a word we must make it our business to raise them in Christianity. End of story.
